The despair

January 30, 2018

I’m going to have to go back to this again. Those distant trees aren’t right.

  1. This is so strong, the way the colors and shapes comes together is striking. Nice work!

I like the way it feels, and draws me in.

  3. I love the distant trees – what about them don’t you like?

    • They look like people, or something worse I won’t go into! Don’t they stick out from the rest with their outlines?

      • Yes, they’re noticeable – and my mind doesn’t see anything but trees:-) – but I think they’re beautifully crafted. I like the shading and the outlines. Part of me wants to see some of the yellow brought into the green shrubs just at the base of the trees (not that I suggest you do that because that’s the kind of thought that sends a lot of my work back to square one!)

        • There is quite a blunt shape to the end of the path there. I will investigate without being rash! It’s new to me finishing a piece, then reviewing it and then doing some more. This one was last touched in November!

But mysterious…nothing the matter with that. Your mind is working too hard. (K)

  5. I love it as it is. There’s always a temptation to keep working on an artwork, so hard to tell when it is finished.
