  1. Interesting stuff for sure. Do you participate in art shows?

    • I don’t and I’m not really sure what they are apart from local art group annuals. I can’t imagine myself making the effort of finding out either! I’m particularly anti social at the moment. My first ATCs, I hadn’t realised they were so small!

I keep thinking about all your trees…

  3. Lovely softness to these – and colour and line. Were the landscapes – and farmer(?) – drawn from your imagination? Seeing your comment above, not sure what ATCs are … (also, not sure about the etiquette on commenting on other conversations – let me know if that’s not ok! Just wanted to say that I find art is good company when I’m anti-social)

    • Without something in front of me, my imagination is completely at a loss. I tried to produce three imaginative pieces from books I’d read. The results were so underwhelming I gave up! They are on the blog somewhere if you are interested. Have you any tips? These pictures are from sketches or a photo (the trees) the farmer was a marvellous sculpture. I think it’s fine to comment on other comments btw. ATCs are artist trading cards size 2 1/2 by 3 1/2″. I learnt about them off Chris Francz site (who commented above) have a look at his site to see what detail and colour he manages to get into that small size!

      • I don’t have tips for landscapes – I’m really at a loss with them! With people, I try to draw an experience or feeling rather than a specific face or features. While I’m drawing, I mostly focus on conjuring up the emotion or attitude that I’m thinking of and just see what comes out. Not sure if that’s helpful, but if you give it a try I’d be curious to see what comes out:-). Thx for mentioning Chris Francz – I’ll look him up!

  4. Very interesting. I like the way you are working wet-in-wet. Nice atmospheric look.
