  1. Field of Dreams.
I love the blue color in the trees! 🙂

    • Thank you Sandra. Still playing about with these, but yes, what a wonderful field it was – spotted from a path with a bit of a scramble to get the full view. I find it amazing that something so striking is probably reserved for the tractor driver, wildlife and the odd trespasser!

    Oh wow!
These are great. I love the sense of you sketching through several versions, working out your composition, tones and colours.

    • I’ve been doing different versions of scenes more lately. Never used to. Wonder where that’s come from – possibly the new sketchbook – what freedom calling it a sketchbook! Touches on what you wrote earlier.

The last one is my favorite, but also great to see the transitions. (K)

    • These were done a little while ago now, but I like looking back at them through someone else’s eyes. There’s always something new and a really respect your opinion, so thank you for commenting. I’ve been to an exhibition this week and made some notes for what I could take from it – one is ‘darker skies’ – and then I look back, and in the one you pick out, I’ve done it already!

  4. Loving these. A real sense of distance and the familiar feeling of appreciating a view that is, as you say, probably only seen by a few souls on a regular basis.

  5. Nice! Have you looked at paintings by Anselm Kiefer?

  7. I also love the third one. My eye enjoys wandering around the field and then noticing the upward magenta colored growth echoing the trees in the back.

  8. Lovely set of sketches, so dynamic

  9. Beautiful set of sketches. Yes it really starts to loosen up when we stop trying so hard and let ourselves play.
