Exercise: draw small parts of the left outline of the figure using charcoal smudged finger

Exercise: continue as above, but with a moving figure. Choose and repeat an area you find difficult. Feet! My favourite exercise of the night.

Workshop run by Oliver Lovley at the Malt Cross sorry for the poor photos, the best I could do.

    • Thank you. We were upstairs in the pub near the windows. He didn’t suggest we wear the cardboard necklaces this time!

I wish I lived nearer. I spotted them but they are on a Monday evening.

        • I won’t make it every week. As with his other workshop, he has a much different approach to what I’ve been used to. Taking a small part and really concentrating on observing it is different to my usual trying to capture the whole pose in one go. Also it seems to have me considering the outline again rather than just the mass. I have also been doing ‘proper’ measuring with my pencil! Hoping to go this Monday too.

  1. I know just how difficult these workshop classes are at such speed…great job, and hope you enjoyed too?! 🙂

  2. I love to draw with a drink and people all around listening to jazz .its fun to check them out the next day and see what I did
