  1. I love the simplicity and freshness of approach in these quick drawings!

    • Thank you. I’m gradually getting a little more confident with my sketchbook in public. Always helps when I’m with my kids. I’m starting to feel the figures look the same wherever I am. Is that the clothes?

      • I was told by Marc Taro Holmes to try and get the hairstyles sorted early and that was what made people look different. I dont focus too much on the clothes. I think if you get the rough pose of the limbs that’s more important. You can stick just about anyone’s clothes on once the pose is there.

        • Hmmm hairstyles, that’s a good tip, will keep that in mind. It doesn’t help that everyone is always looking at their phones or, if its the seaside, eating an icecream. Also there’s alot of bald men out there! There’s one figure in this batch who seems to be looking right at me which I find a bit unsettling. Just hope his eyesight was worse than mine. Thanks Leonie, very helpful

          • I think glasses are handy, you don’t have to draw their eyes! 😁 I got quite convinced once that a woman I was drawing had seen me sketching her so afterwards I went up and spoke to her explaining what I was doing. Turns out she had no idea and thankfully was flattered rather than annoyed.
