  1. I like rocks in art. Good to see these. 🙂

  2. A powerful piece! It makes me feel like the earth is crying…also love the little hidden ”face” just below centre in the shadows 🙂

  3. I thought you had painted it there intentionally! It’s even more exciting discovering them when they happen at random 😉
I see the face ~ which looks like it is lying down in profile, so looking at your painting, I see the right side of chin, mouth, nose, closed eye, eyebrow and forehead looking back at me. It is in the brown tone of the dark shading just below they greyer shading of the second down and second in large stone from the left looking at the picture. If it helps…there is also a ‘dark grey’ drip emerging directly from the mouth (the fifth major drip down) I hope you can see it, it’s very impressive and works so well within your painting !! 🙂

    I love this piece OA.

  5. I love the way the runs add to the work. Great colours and feeling.

  6. Thank you. Using more watery paint but with strong colour was inspired (nabbed) from oliver lovley (google him) who ran a workshop i went to. I came home and immediately tackled those rocks again, i still find them fascinating. I need another trip to the seaside soon!

  7. Love it. I think this piece is really strong.

  8. I love all the shapes and drips in this, outside authority!

    • The drips I’ve picked up from a workshop, I think they may be a bit affected, but will play with them for a while. I think they work in this and with these paints they give a lovely rich drip!
